About The Subsurface Library
The Subsurface Library, headquartered in Midland, TX, is a non-profit library established in 1984-85 to house and preserve scientific petroleum data for present and future researchers and industry professionals. Founded in 1962 by Dick Rousselot, a geologist and King Hughes, a landman, the library is open to all and has become the premier geological data source for the Permian Basin, the highest producing oil and gas basin in the United States.
